Job Summary:
The Assistant Store Manager shares the responsibility for the daily operation of an individual store. The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in achieving budgeted revenue goals and monitoring expenses. The Assistant Store manager works with the Store Manager, Associates and Corporate Management to drive sales, ensure high levels of customer service, solve problems and achieve employee development goals. They also perform various store duties on an as needed basis.

Job Qualifications:
              
  • Three or more years of automotive aftermarket experience and a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Effective at multi-tasking and dealing with multiple employee or customer concerns at any given time.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills and act in a professional manner while interacting with customers and co-workers.
  • Must possess adequate written communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
  • Be able to function in a stressful environment, under substantial time pressure.

Job Responsibilities:
An assistant store manager ensures customer concerns are solved effectively and promptly and works with the store manager to maximize store profitability. An assistant manager communicates any problems, concerns and other matters to the Store Manager as they occur and assumes the responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence. An assistant store manager also works with the store manager to maintain store security, including inventory control, building security and cash handling, as well as maintenance of delivery fleet and maximizing delivery efficiency. An assistant store manager also ensures that all damaged, defective and returned goods are processed in a timely manner. An assistant store manager may set staff schedules, lead, direct and supervise store employees. An assistant store manager works with the store manager in evaluating all store employees; ensuring that reviews are conducted on schedule according to the guidelines outlined by the Human Resources Department and that the Human Resources Department receives the documentation of the review. When necessary, the assistant store manager may discipline employees consistent with the company disciplinary policies and subject to Store Manager and/or Human Resources approval. An assistant store manager also works with the store manager to develop a pool of potential store employees to meet the long range goals of the company. An assistant store manager may interview job applicants and complies with all company hiring policies. An assistant store manager ensures company policies and procedures are communicated in a timely manner and adhered to accordingly. This includes, ensuring that the store is in compliance with all employment, state and federal laws, including wage and hour, human rights and equal employment opportunities by working closely with the Human Resources Department. An assistant store manager ensures maintenance of store facilities, equipment of safe working conditions for employees and customers and resolves safety concerns quickly. An assistant manager also completes required reports accurately and on time.
