An automotive machinist is responsible for reconditioning various parts such as heads and connecting rods, assisting with or performing crank, valve and flywheel grinding and the installation of valve seats, helicoils, sleeves and valve guides as requested by the customer. An automotive machinist operates various other shop machines as needed such as drills, lathes, mills and other shop had tools. An automotive machinist also performs miscellaneous shop tasks such as hydraulic hose repairs as requested.
An automotive machinist is part of the store and APH team and, therefore, assists other team members as needed. An automotive machinist works with other store team members towards the successful operation of the store and completions of store sales quotas and goals.
