Training and Support Specialist

Job Summary:
The Training and Support Specialist position is responsible for providing point-of-sale, accounting and other administrative support to corporate stores. This includes training and supporting new store managers on point-of-sale, inventory management and other store accounting and administrative processes. This position also trains new independent store customers on point-of-sale systems and administrative processes. The Training and Support Specialist position is also responsible for maintaining and developing training materials and best practices for these systems and processes.

Job Qualifications:
  • Experience and working knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as Office programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Working knowledge of company specific point-of-sale, store inventory, warehouse and back office administrative processes. 

  • Familiar with store operating and inventory procedures and how those affect point-of-sale and back office systems. 

  • Above average verbal and written communications skills as well as excellent problem solving, logical reasoning, project management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to teach others the skills and knowledge they need to effectively and efficiently work with store and corporate systems and processes.

  • Distribution or retail experience with some accounting knowledge is a plus.

  • Automotive parts knowledge is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

Point-of-Sale System Support

Training and Support Specialist provides stores with effective on-site and phone support of our point-of-sale system for new store managers, acquisitions and changeovers.  This support includes centralized and on-site support for inventory and reporting functions, electronic cataloging, B2B and B2C systems.  Training and Support Specialist also provides point-of-sale training and support for the corporate office.   

 

Administrative and Accounting Support

Training and Support Specialist provides on-site training for new store managers on inventory management procedures, back office bookkeeping and other processes. This position reviews store inventory reconciliation results, reviews inventory reconciliation worksheets and investigates shortage and overage variances. Training and Support Specialist also provides telephone support on these processes and procedures. This support position updates and presents materials for the inventory management seminar for new store managers and other designated store team members.  It provides assistance when inventory issues arise, including participating in an inventory “scrub”, physical inventories and internal store audits.

 

Miscellaneous Support

Training and Support Specialist works with various departments to develop effective training materials and best practices for point-of-sale and administrative systems and processes. It develops and maintains documentation such as procedures, policies and processes related to the point of sale and back office systems and procedures. This position is also responsible for assisting managers with these systems and procedures while on-site.
