Outside Sales Representative

Job Summary:
The Outside Sales Representative is directly responsible to call on and service various customers of the store. These customers maybe Wholesale or otherwise. The sales person is also responsible to assist in promoting and advancing Auto Value marketing/sales programs as appropriate and requested. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing and creating new opportunities for sales through cold calls of new customers and accounts.

Job Qualifications:
  • 4 year degree in Business or related field or High School Diploma with appropriate experience.
  • ASE Parts Specialist Certification is preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience is preferred.
  • This position requires above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of auto parts business and sales approaches.
  • This position also requires excellent organizational skills and working knowledge of desktop computers, including such programs as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Job Responsibilities:
Ensures customer concerns are solved effectively and promptly. Delegates tasks and conducts follow-ups to ensure task completion. Calls on customers per schedule/strategy worked out with Store Manager and Regional Store Manager. Ensures that company policies and procedures are communicated in a timely manner and adhered to accordingly. Works with Store Manager and Regional Manager to establish and carry out Sales Plans for the Store. Completes reports accurately and on time. Assists in various tasks needed to keep store operating efficiently at direction of the Store Manager. Assists in ensuring damaged, defective, and returned goods are processed in a timely, accurate manner. Is able to function in a stressful environment, under substantial time pressure. Ensures that the store is in compliance with all employment, State and Federal laws, including wage and hour, human rights and equal employment opportunities by working closely with the Human Resources Department. Maintains safe working conditions for employees and customers; Resolves safety concerns quickly. Attends seminars, classes, and meetings as instructed by Store or Corporate Management to increase knowledge base. Performs all other duties as needed or requested by Store or Corporate Management.
